I will contact you for the stuff for which you gave me explicit permission (setting up your website or answering your questions). If you hire me to install a premium theme on your site, I will maintain your email address on a specific newsletter list so I can contact you (and other buyers) in the event a theme update is required for security or other important reasons. I will not send you marketing emails unless you willingly sign up to a clearly identified marketing list. I consider my “Monthly Updates” to be marketing emails, but I no longer add people to that list.
Information Collected From Users
Information is collected from several places on this website.
Contact Form and Let’s Work Together Form
When filling out a form on the site, you may be asked to provide your contact information as well as details about your work request. This personal information will only be used by GoCreate.me to contact you as per your request, and it will not be transferred, sold, or provided to any other party unless required by law. You have the right to not provide your contact information, but, by declining, you will not be able to submit the contact form or use some of the services or features offered on this site. This information is stored in our email software (Gsuite) and in our database on our SiteGround server indefinitely (or until manually deleted).
The booking capability of this website involves some customer data being exported to a third-party application (Google Calendar/Calendly) so that your services can be provided on the date that you requested.
Personal information is requested in the E-Commerce section of the site so that your services may be delivered. Such information may include name, address, phone number, email address, and more. This information remains on file for at least seven years (for tax purposes).
Email Communication and Newsletter Lists
If you purchase a service or product from this site, GoCreate.me will contact you via email to discuss the services required and request additional information/provide clarification on what is required and what the next steps of the process are.
If you subscribe to GoCreate.me’s marketing list or if you hire GoCreate.me to install a premium theme on your website, your name and email address will be kept private and saved on SendFox’s, ActiveCampaign’s, and/or MailerLite’s secure servers indefinitely so that your subscription preferences (including date when you subscribed and unsubscribed, etc.) can be recorded. Those who purchased a premium theme will be contacted if/when updates to their purchased theme are available. A separate list will be maintained for each premium theme in an effort to only send important messages when pertinent to your situation. A separate “marketing” list will be created for those who want to receive news about GoCreate.me’s latest offerings (free/premium themes, tutorials, videos, etc.). Users can unsubscribe from these lists whenever they want, although we recommend staying on the theme-updates-only list for security reasons. No marketing emails will be sent to those lists. We do not share our newsletter subscribers’ information with anyone.
Tracking and Analytics Data
A Facebook Pixel may appear on every page of this site to track the success of any Facebook advertising campaigns, should we decide to run ads one day. Email addresses collected by GoCreate.me could potentially be uploaded collectively (not individually) to Facebook in order for its algorithms to create a “look-alike” group of similar Facebook users who may also be interested in GoCreate.me’s offerings. Individual email addresses will not be used to target individual users on Facebook. The creation of “look-alike audiences” is a common practice used by Facebook advertisers when trying to expand their organic reach. It does not give Facebook the right to contact you using the email addresses that were uploaded.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
If you upload images to the website, or if you upload a profile photo for a testimonial, you should avoid uploading/providing images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
If you leave a testimonial for other users to see, your comments may be used without restriction and free of charge on this site and/or on other marketing material, as deemed appropriate by GoCreate.me. You can request to have your testimonial deleted at any time by contacting Caro here.
The site contains affiliate links for companies we use, trust, and recommend, such as SiteGround, AppSumo, WordPress.com, NameCheap, Draft2Digital, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Amazon, Rakuten Kobo, and other companies. If you click one of our affiliate links, a cookie will be placed on your computer and, should you make a purchase, GoCreate.me will be paid a small commission. You will not pay a penny more by going through these links. These affiliate links are carefully selected based on our experience with these service providers, and the small commission earned helps to cover the costs associated with this website and other advertising costs.
For users that register on our website (as customers, for example), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for seven years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address, products or services purchases, and billing and shipping addresses.
We will also store comments, testimonials, or reviews if you choose to leave them.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Purchases, Payments, and Checkout Process
When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details, and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:
- Send you information about your account and order;
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints;
- Process payments and prevent fraud;
- Set up your account for our store;
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes;
- Improve our store offerings;
- Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them, and security updates relevant to the specific products or services you purchased;
- If you create an account, we will store your name, address, and email, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.
We’ll also track the following:
- Products you’ve viewed so we can show you products you’ve recently browsed;
- Location so we can estimate taxes, if applicable;
- Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased, and where it should be sent (if applicable);
- Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information;
- Cart contents are tracked with cookies while you’re browsing our site.
GoCreate.me has access to your customer information to help fulfill orders, process refunds, and support you. As of April 2020, two administrators have access to this data.
When submitting an E-Commerce transaction on this site, your personal data, as well as the total amount of your order, is sent to an external service to handle the payment processing.
When booking a premium theme installation, your information is shared with Google Calendar/Calendly so that the appointment can appear on GoCreate’s Google calendar.
Limitation on Liability
By using and viewing this site, you acknowledge that GoCreate.me and its owners specifically disclaim any contractual, tort, strict, or any other type of liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or any other type of damage associated with this site, including but not limited to, any virus that may infect your computer. All efforts are made to ensure such consequences don’t occur but you are held solely responsible for any damage related to downloading material obtained from this site or from sites linked to this site.
GoCreate.me will not be held liable for the unavailability or failure of site functions except to the extent required by applicable laws. This site will contain links to other sites and other sites may link to this site. These links are added for pure convenience and GoCreate.me is not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the content from these other sites. Accessing these sites is done at your own risk.
